They’ll succumb to injury.

Unconcerned with a year-older core and how the Spurs haven’t repeated as champs, oddsmakers have bestowed the West’s best odds upon Gregg Popovich and buddies. And why don’t you?
San Antonio looked fresh throughout the postseason, thanks mostly to a maintenance plan that kept each and every Spur under 30 minutes per game throughout the year. Once younger, more athletic teams broke , the well-rested Spurs reach their stride.
Expect them to choose the same approach this season, or even an even more conservative one. The regular season isn’t any longer a challenge for this group, and they proved last year that they might essentially give away games without damaging their postseason positioning.
Despite holding veterans from back-to-back games all season, the Spurs won a league-high 62 competitions.
If something goes awry, maybe they will slip up and acquire 57 or 58 this year.
San Antonio is the West until proved otherwise.
