Cleveland Cavaliers

A post-LeBron James reconstruct was always inevitable in Northeast Ohio, and the Cavs have clearly accepted that fate. Through four in-season tradesthey restocked their cabinets with nine incoming draft picks, including a set of future firsts.
But before heading reclamation street down, oft-injured, 30-year-old Kevin Love was first given a four-year, $120 million expansion by Cleveland. That rate not only appears inflated due to deficiencies that are defensive and his health history, but it might also lead the Cavs to a couple of unnecessary wins. He’s still capable of scoring or rebounding at an All-Star pace.
In case the idea was to lean on the leadership then reverse him for rebuilding tools of Love, the plan was doomed from the beginning.
“You are not getting an asset for him under any conditions,” a Western Conference executive told Bleacher Report’s Ken Berger earlier this year.
Speaking of resources, the group underwhelms from every angle. Collin Sexton is intriguing, but his 41.1 field-goal percentage and 15.6 help percentage highlight his limitations. Cedi Osman works as a complementary bit, but likely nothing more. To put it differently, the Cavs may be at least from forming their base a few drafts.
