RugbyX will observe the debut of rugby’s version of the’Super Over’, with drawn matches determined with a contest that is revolutionary.
In the event of a draw, a single attacker from one team will attempt to score beyond one defender from the other.
The’one-on-one’ was included as part of RugbyX’s laws, which have been verified by World Rugby.
October the latest version of rugby launches at the 02 Stadium on 29.

Dubbed’Rugby’s Twenty20′, RugbyX is a variant of the game, played with on a pitch that is half-sized and is complete contact.
Halves will be 10 minutes each, with no break between.
Kicking is enabled, but kicks must not exceed 10 metres in elevation, together with the space monitored by chunk monitoring technology.

“The RugbyX laws have been developed with the objective of supporting simple, rapid and skilful gameplay using minimal stoppages, whilst keeping the core fundamentals of the sport we love,” said RugbyX Technical Director Ben Ryan.
Former England winger Ugo Monye, co-host of this Rugby Union Weekly podcast, believes that the’one on one’ is really a stunning and innovative means of picking out a game.
The attacker will start 30 metres in the line, whereas the defender begins 5 metres out.
“As a defender it is a nightmare, but as an attacker that the pressure is on you to dent,” he said. “I would like to see someone such as [Springbok wing] Cheslin Kolbe doing it.
“For me, RugbyX is an extremely simplified and abbreviated version that cherry-picks the best bits of what is.”
