Ariel Helwani broke the news Friday confirmed on Monday that UFC title challenger Val??rie L??tourneau has signed with Bellator MMA. L??tourneau (8-6) heads into her promotional introduction off three straight losses, enduring setbacks to Joanna J??drzejczyk, Joanne Calderwood and most recently Viviane Pereira last December at UFC 206. Before this year After her current slide, the American Top Team merchandise was released from the UFC.
The 33-year-old L??tourneau will fit in nicely into Bellator’s 125-pound flyweight division and has had difficulty in the past producing the strawweight limitation. She strove for Season 18 of The Ultimate Fighter but was eliminated after losing by first-round submission.
Where she took a split-decision success over Elizabeth Phillips in June 2014, l??tourneau was given a second chance on short note at UFC 174. She followed that up with wins over Jessica Rakoczy and Maryna Moroz which earned her a title shot against J??drzejczyk in UFC 193. The 25-year-old suffered the blow off of his career enduring a split-decision reduction.
