Arnold Allen (14-1) could be one of the greatest fighters you haven’t seen before and the chances suggest oddsmakers are taking him seriously against Gilbert Melendez (22-7). Allen will fly under the radar a bit as he’s only fought once a year since 2014, but if he does fight, fans are in for a treat.
Allen is somebody who lets his game do the talking and that he doesn’t have a tendency to be a personality pre- or post-fight, that may hurt when it comes to advertising. He is making an effort to be more active as this is already his next battle in 2019. He comes into this bout undefeated in the UFC with a 5-0 record with two functionality of the night awards to his credit.
Gilbert Melendez, 12 years older than the upstart Allen, has been through wars with nearly everyone in the UFC. Melendez has no issue diminished, entering the struggle. It’s not a fantastic sign when a fighter should step away from the game to locate their love for it again. Following his last fight, he did just that, but I have very real questions about the motivation of Melendez, that has not won because 2013.
This is going to be the biggest fight of Allen’s career and if he has a nice showing, it should vault him into the top 15, finally. He’s very well versed and has proven an ability to accommodate to the fight in front of him.

I am just going to outpoint him, outskill himand going for a bit better than him on the evening ”
I agree, and Allen must point-fight his way to a decision victory, but he wants to not devote to Melendez, who will want a kill-or-be-killed firefight.
