FanDuel MLB DFS Picks – August 14th

We had a real pleasant night with the FanDuel MLB DFS Picks of previous night as we got lots of production down and up the lineup.
Our pitcher, Domingo German, got things off to a nice start as he hurled seven innings of two-run ball with seven strikeouts in a winning campaign over the Baltimore Orioles. The right-hander allowed a pair of home runs which accounted for all the harm done from him.
Our Cubs stack that is three-man did a great job. Nicholas Castellanos stayed white-hot, especially against left-handed pitching, with a solo home run from Jason Vargas and singled and scored an extra run too. Kris Bryant doubled and walked while Javier Baez walked and recorded with an RBI, but made good on his own unique stolen base divides against left-handed pitching with a sneak off of Vargas, his 10th of the year. Quality production here.
We did very well in our three-man Tigers stack. Jake Rogers maintained the power stroke going using a home run a shot, in this to grow his own walk. Travis Demeritte had another wonderful game that included a set of singles, a pair of runs and another stolen base, his third in only his 12th huge league sport. Although Brandon Dixon supplied a double but sadly also struck out four times. However, we obtained exceptional, low-owned manufacturing in this trio.
I rostered two one-offs past night, and also among them delivered some big-time damage as Brian Dozier continued his attack on left handed pitching with a home run from southpaw Alex Wood. It is better than nothing, although fellow one-off Josh VanMeter failed to provide a single on the nighttime to value.
It was a great night all night and Ill seem to make it two in a row about tonights little slate.
P — Aaron Nola (PHI) — $10,100 vs. CHC
The top arm on this record is left-hander Clayton Kershaw because he chooses on the Miami Marlins in Miami tonight, but I am likely to rally to right-hander Aaron Nola as he takes on the Cubs in his home park of Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia this evening. I am going GPP with this lineup tonight, although kershaw is the cash play. Anyway, Nola was excellent at home that season where hes posted a 3.07 ERA, 3.57 FIP, 3.73 xFIP plus a 10.78 K/9 around more than 90 home innings this season compared to his 4.63 ERA, 4.99 FIP and also 9.11 K/9 across nearly half of the innings in contrast to his job at home. Certainly, weve got something to work with here since Nola has been very good in the home more often than not this year despite a shaky start. His start at home came against the White Sox when he hurled seven innings of all one-run ball using 10 punchouts to boot. That marks the third period in the previous six begins in the home in which 10 strikeouts have been reached by the 2018 NL Cy Young candidate. The Cubs are a harmful offense to be sure since they rank seventh in wOBA versus right-handed pitching, however that reality combined with his cost could keep Nola lower owned than you can think. Im willing to roll the dice tonight.
C/1B — Jake Rogers (DET) — $3,000 vs. SEA
Once more I will be rolling with a pair of three-man stacks in this 1 tonight and rostering a few one-offs to complement the piles. My three-man Tigers stack kicks away with Rogers as Im picking him on Miguel Cabrera and Brandon Dixon at similar price points in the C/1B spot. Simply put, Rogers is the hottest bat of the three and I wish to keep on him while he is swinging that strong stick hes put on display in three distinct stops this year, a journey that began at Double-A. Hes likely to play almost everyday at this stage awarded his elite defense behind the platebut Rogers could become a nice supply of power from underneath the dish as he is homered four times within only 11 matches and 44 plate looks at the MLB level this season. If you combine all 3 levels, Rogers has smacked 18 home runs in 87 games on this season. He struck left-handed pitching for a great .844 OPS at Triple-A prior to his phone up, and thats what he will see tonight against southpaw Marco Gonzales. Rogers is currently 2 for 6 with two home runs from left-handers in the major league level including last nights shot off of southpaw Yusei Kikuchi. I think some power can be generated tonight.
2B — Niko Goodrum (DET) — $3,200 vs. SEA
Goodrum wasnt a part of my Tigers stack last night because of price and the makeup of the lineup, but he is likely be in this one tonight as hell form a wrap-around stack with Rogers and a Tigers outfielder in this 1 tonight. I desired him last nights stack as his bat is productive against left handed pitching, but he can sport some exceptional splits. The extra-base power is raised against righties as Goodrum possesses a .173 ISO against righties when compared with some .159 markers against lefties. From there on out, the Goodrums divides prefer facing left handed pitching. Goodrum is hitting on .364 with a .941 OPS, .393 wOBA along with also a 147 wRC+ to the season against left-handed pitching. The numbers are notably better on the street against lefties, however I am not too concerned as he pitched in the nights game and scored a pair of runs against the southpaw Kikuchi. Theres also the simple fact that Goodrum has been very good since the return in the All-Star break as he owns a .213 ISO, .853 OPS, .355 wOBA and 122 wRC+ as July 12th. We have some base upside as Goodrum has swiped at 12 foundations.
3B — Sean Rodriguez (PHI) — $2,200 vs. CHC
My stacks arent just on the cheap side, especially my main pile, so I needed to obtain a couple of value one-offs to make my lineup fit under the salary cap on this masterpiece tonight. I believe I have found some value from Sean Rodriguezs bat because he chooses on the Chicago Cubs along with left-hander Cole Hamels. By doing harm against left-wing pitching during his 16, rodriguez has left his big league money. In his career against southpaws, Rodriguez possesses a .168 ISO, .763 OPS, .336 wOBA plus also a 113 wRC+. Those amounts are notably superior compared to the .146 ISO, .625 OPS, .275 wOBA and 71 wRC+ from right-handed pitching. The splits are broad again this year as he has smacked each of the homers against left handed pitching in only 43 at-bats against them. Hes hitting .279 with a .233 ISO, .879 OPS, .370 wOBA and a 129 wRC+ from left-handed pitching this year because little 43 at-bat sample dimension. Hes also made a .350 ISO 1.041 OPS, .425 wOBA along with 164 wRC+ at home against lefties this season in a 20 at-bats sample dimensions as just two of his homers this season have come in this span. Obviously, we have something to work with here in terms of extracting value from Rodriguezs bat tonight.
SS — Charlie Culberson (ATL) — $2,100 vs. NYM
The last one-off of the lineup is the Braves Charlie Culberson that comes in a near-minimum price against left-hander Steven Matz along with the New York Mets. Its been a tale of two seasons for Matz awarded his home/away divides this season. In the home, he owns a eye-popping 2.14 ERA, but hes been brutalized on the street for a 6.79 ERA while his 6.43 FIP and also 5.23 xFIP together with some 2.59 HR/9 on the road dont exactly paint a much wider picture. This could be a very good thing for Culberson and also the Braves because a Braves pile could be used tonight too. Nevertheless, I like Culberson as a value well. He is enjoying yet another successful year in part-time duty according to his own .345 wOBA along with 110 wRC+ on the season. However, Culberson is doing some serious damage against left-handed pitching as he possesses a enormous .405 average, .262 ISO, 1.085 OPS, .449 wOBA plus also a 178 wRC+ to the season vs southpaw pitching. The sample is modest at only 42 at-bats, but the production is actual. None of the strikes went for extra-bases, however, Culberson is just 2 for 4 with a stolen base in his short history against Matz. I think there is a whole lot of upside in these two one-off worth .
OF — Travis Demeritte (DET) — $2,900 vs. SEA
Completing our three-man Tigers stack is Demeritte who proceeds to impress because coming over from the Braves in the trade deadline and immediately getting his promotion to the big leagues for the first time in his career. His cross-category possible was on display in last nights game as he had a set of singles, scored two runs and used his wheels to sneak his third base of this year in just his 12th MLB match. For what its worth, he also added four steals at Triple-A at the Braves business before the trade. It was fine to watch him have some victory against a left-hander in the nights game as he hadnt done so a very small sample prior to last nights competition, at least at the big leagues. In Triple-A, Demeritte penalized southpaws to get a .954 OPS this season while nine of his 20 home runs at Triple-A came against a left-hander in about half as many at-bats because he had against righties. Demeritte has shown wonderful consistency since arriving to Detroit as he is recorded at least one hit in eight of the 12 matches, for example in each of the last seven. The 24-year-old is set to find a long look in the Tigers outfield for the remainder of the year and I will look for him to keep to make the most of the possibility again tonight.
OF — Mike Trout (LAA) — $4,800 vs. PIT
Even the Angels and Pirates keep their series from Anaheim tonight and the Angels have a real fine house matchup against right-hander Chris Archer whos mostly fought to the road this season. Archer enters this man sporting a 6.66 ERA on the road this year while he is let a whopping 2.05 HR/9 on the street also. His 4.94 FIP and 4.32 xFIP suggest theres some positive regression to be needed for Archer on the road this season, but to be quite honest I shall just roster three Angels who struck right-handed pitching for lots of home run power and see where it carries me. Trout is competing this season and his splits favor this matchup. The righty-swinging Trout has exceptional numbers versus righties than lefties in the kind of a .389 ISO, 1.136 OPS, .452 wOBA plus also a 191 wRC+ vs righties on this season. His amounts versus righties at home are similar. We get some stolen base uspide with Trout and he has two steals on the season, seven of which have come from righties. Archer is vulnerable to the stolen base plus I like the fact that Trout has three steals against him despite a .227 batting average in 22 career at-bats against him. Nevertheless, given home run woes this year and Archers street work, Trout is once again a high-ceiling perform tonight.
OF — Shohei Ohtani (LAA) — $3,500 vs. PIT
Next guy up in our three-man Angels stack is Ohtani who proceeds to strike right-handed pitching for plenty of electricity . Add into his speed on the basepaths and we certainly have plenty of upside in this matchup tonight. Ohtani owns a .245 ISO, .902 OPS, .371 wOBA and 136 wRC+ over the season versus right-handed pitching. Furthermore, he has submitted a .320 ISO, 1.076 OPS, .431 wOBA along with 176 wRC+ to the time against lefties at home. Ohtani has utilized his pace to steal 10 bases. It has been a second half for its star that is two-way , however he enjoyed a night and also has caught fire in the nights match as well. Over his past four games, hes gone 8 for 20 (.400) with 2 doubles, a triple, four runs scored, six RBI and a stolen base to boot. He went 2 for 5 with two runs, a triple, a double, two RBI and a stolen base. Ohtani is among those bata that you wish to ride when sexy and thats just what I will do in a home matchup in which he does his best work.
UTIL — Justin Upton (LAA) — $3,100 vs. PIT
Upton has seen activity in only 40 games this season because of an accident that cost him a big chunk of this seasons first half, but the man is once again demonstrating some reverse-splits and mashing right-handed pitching in 2019. Entering this one tonight, Upton sports that the .238 ISO, .871 OPS, .360 wOBA and 129 wRC+ to the season against right-wing pitching. The numbers are better on the street against righties, but given the small sample Im not worried about this to be fair. This marks the second consecutive season hes submitted some showy reverse-splits as he set up a .232 ISO, .875 OPS, .373 wOBA and 141 wRC+ from righties last season compared to a .125 ISO, .593 OPS, .265 wOBA and 67 wRC+ from lefties this year. He hasnt conducted much this year with only one steal so much, but he has listed 22 steals within the previous two seasons and with Archer allowing his fair share of steals, perhaps the stolen base upside gets a few ticks in the perfect direction in this . Im more interested by the power upside down to be confident and that three-man Angels stack brings tons of this against a pitcher allowing a ton of home runs this year.
