Sacramento Kings
Vegas Over/Under: 28.5
The Record Projection: 28-54 of fromal The Bet: Avoid but lean under
It’s the one if any over/under mark seems about the money. But we’ll still lean ever so slightly toward the below, largely for reasons clarified by ESPN.com’s Kevin Pelton as he forecasted the Western Conference bottom-feeders to win only 27.4 matches:
“Despite incorporating veterans Vince Carter, George Hill and Zach Randolph as free agents, the Kings are projected since the league’s second-worst offensive assault by RPM. Although this isn’t a part of the projection, few teams will have more incentive to improve their draft pick, as Sacramento will not have its first-rounder in 2019 because of commerce.”
That incentive to tank is large, and it might not even be as impactful as the potential reduction of Randolph. Explaining a scenario that could soon use to the veteran power forward, Ronald Tillery composed for The Commerical Appeal:”The team’s collective bargaining agreement with the players’ association states a player will be dismissed and disqualified from the NBA when he is convicted of, or pleads guilty, no contest or nolo contendere to, a crime involving the felony distribution of marijuana”
Losing Randolph would push moments on the Kings’ ever-expanding collection of inexperienced gamers. And that is the theme of the roster, as management has done a praiseworthy job of establishing their coffers after the passing of DeMarcus Cousins.
That approach just won’t turn into several wins.
