Revealed: Why Watford sacked Javi Gracia and brought back Quique Sanchez Flores
Since he was not able to fix their leaky defence and unwilling to play new signings Javi Gracia was sacked by watford, Sky Sports News understands.
His dad Giampaolo and owners Gino Pozzo lost faith in the Spaniard after only a point from their opening four games left them bottom of the Premier League – plus they had failed to keep a clean sheet since February.
The Pozzo family are also understood to have been worried about Gracia’s aversion to playing with new #40m club-record registering Ismaila Sarr and transport Danny Welbeck.
The pair made just one sub appearance each – either during the 3-1 home defeat – although the Hornets suffered a draw and three defeats in their first four matches.
Both players may initiate the clash live on Sky Sports Super following Watford attracted Quique Sanchez Flores back into Vicarage Road as boss for another spell.
