Rey Vargas (33-0, 22 KOs) vs. Tomoki Kameda (36-2)
When: July 13 2019,
Where: Carson, Calif..
TV: DAZN
Kameda and Vargas will square off in a battle for Vargas’ WBC junior featherweight title. Tomokia Kameda stands 5’7″ woth a 66-inch reach. The 27-year-old in Japan has won five fights including a unanimous decision win over Abigail Medina in November. Rey Vargas stands 5’71/2″ with a 70-inch reach. The 28-year-old from Mexico hasn’t been defeated and enters this bout coming from a unanimous decision win over Franklin Manzanilla in February.
“I think both he and I’ve changed in a lot of things, the professional ranks are different and the struggle will likely be different, but the result will be exactly the same, we’ll win because our capacity to adjust is better as the battle progresses,” Vargas told reporters recently.
Prediction
Tomoki Kameda if they were amateurs in Mexico was defeated by vargas and I’m going to have it done though I am not expecting a cakewalk triumph by any stretch of the imagination. Kameda is an excellent fighter, however, Vargas hasn’t been defeated and I expect him to problem-solve his solution.
Boxing Betting Select: Rey Vargas Via Unanimous Choice
Diego De La Hoya (21-0. 10 KOs) vs. Ronny Rios (30-3, 14 KOs)
When: July 13 2019,
Where: Carson, Calif..
TV: DAZN
Both of these featherwieghts will square off at a 12 round battle on Saturday. Ronny Rios stands 5’6″ with a 70-inch reach. The 29 year-old from California comes into this bout win over Deivi Julio Bass in December after losing to Rey Vargas in his previous bout. Diego De La Hoya stand 5’6″ with a 68-inch reach. The 24-year-old California indigenous and cousin of 10-time world champion Oscar de La Hoya comes into this bout off a seventh round retirement win over Jose Salgado at June of 2018.
Prediction
This bout is obviously set up as a stepping stone matchup for its gifted De La Hoya also it looks like a routing event just waiting to happen seeing as how De La Hoya is the younger, more powerful and quicker fighter in this event, and of course the fact that he’s never been beaten. De La Hoya wins through choice, seeing as he clearly does not have the strength of his renowned kin.
